Robert Allen CarrJuly 13, 1965 ~ May 26, 2017 (age 51)
Robert Allen Carr passed away on Friday, May 26 in hospice at Orlando Regional Medical Center following a long battle with lung cancer. Robert was born in Eastern North Carolina on July 13, 1965. He was adopted by Ray and Everette Carr of Goldsboro, NC in 1967. He was the youngest of seven children. Robert attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. He took a break from his studies to fulfill a mission for the LDS Church to Bangkok, Thailand. There he learned to love the Thai people, culture, and country. He returned to BYU and received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. While there he met and married Robyn Lee Chambers on April 22, 1988. He then began a career in pharmaceutical sales for Pfizer in Orange County, CA. The family then returned to BYU so he could earn a Master’s of Accounting in 1992. Then began a long career in public accounting. This career spanned several states and decades and firms, ending in Orlando as the tax lead partner for RSM. Robert was the proud parent of five children: Lauren Ashley Snow (Dan), Hope Katherine Bradley (Vince), Spicer Warner Carr, John Titus Carr and Jackson Lee Carr. Nothing brought him greater joy than to spend time with his family. He was also proud “Papa” to three adorable granddaughters: London, Juliet and Gwyneth Snow. Robert was known for his faith in his Savior, his love of his family, his sense of humor and his love of BYU sports. He enjoyed traveling and was planning to check Alaska and the Big Island of Hawaii off his bucket list this year. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his oldest brother, William (Bill) Carr, and his nephew, Stephen Mark Carr. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Robyn Lee Carr; his five children and 3 grandchildren; and his siblings: Jan (Allen) Aycock, Kathy (Norman) Collins, Jeanne (Stan) Cupp, Johnny (Nancy) Carr, and Jimmy (Sheila) Carr.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 2nd, 2017, 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3001 S. Apopka-Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819. A reception will immediately follow and a graveside service will be held later in the afternoon at Ponte Vedra Valley.
