Beverly M. McEneaney
1944-2024
Beverly M. McEneaney, 79, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL died Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, FL. She was born on May 7, 1944, in Bristol, CT, but spent most of her early life in Merrimack, NH. After graduating from Merrimack High School she went to work for the John Hancock Life Insurance company in Boston where she made good use of her mathematical skills. While at the John Hancock she met her future husband, Ray McEneaney; they were married on July 31, 1965.
After making an initial road trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon in 1968, Beverly and Ray caught the travel bug. So much so that Beverly traveled to 44 countries, 49 states, all the provinces of Canada and 1800 of the 3100 counties in America. Many of these excursions were road trips.
Beverly was a very accomplished artist. She loved taking art courses and became very proficient painter using oils, acrylics, water colors and Sumi-e, a Japanese ink painting method. Her art has filled Beverly and Ray's homes wherever they have lived. She has exhibited her art in Jacksonville, FL area, most recently at Vicar's Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL which was her home.
Most importantly, Beverly was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She doted on her children and grandchildren and used her extensive cooking skills to provide them with her famous Mac & Cheese, chocolate chip cookies and apple pancakes.
Beverly is survived by her husband Ray; her two daughters, Sara De Lange of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Shannon Blanton of Gaylordsville, CT; her 6 grandchildren, Emma and Meg De Lange, Tristan and Asher McEneaney, and Clark and Josie Blanton. She was predeceased by her son, lan McEneaney, and her grandson, Henry De Lange.
A celebration of Beverly's life will take place at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Rd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082, 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Community Hospice 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257
