DAY Jean J. Day, 82, became heaven bound on October 16, 2014, and will be sorely missed. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, attended Nazerath Academy and married Norman C. Day, an Army Officer, in 1952. They were stationed throughout Europe and the United States. Upon Norman retiring from the military, they moved to Long Beach Island, NJ, where they founded Day Real Estate, built Day Plaza and developed home sites. They moved to Jacksonville, FL, in 1999, and traveled extensively. Jean was active in the community with many worthwhile causes and was deeply devoted to her religion and Church. She enjoyed knitting and made afghans for all new arrivals to the family. After Norman's death, Jean reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, John O'Neill, and once again enjoyed life, travel and love. Jean leaves behind a daughter, JoAnn M. Lee (Bill) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; son, Robert W. Day (Deborah) of Solana Beach, CA; grandchildren, Benjamin Lee, Eric Lee and Rachel Biggs. Mass and inurnment will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 25 at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home and Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow.
