DAVIES Margaret Davies passed away of Parkinson's disease on April 25, 2014. She was born on Indianapolis, IN, on July 26, 1925. She attended elementary and high school in Indianapolis before enrolling in Butler University. While there Margie met and ultimately married Johns Davies on December 21, 1947. They adopted two children, Nancy and Rick, both of whom preceded her in death. After graduation from Butler in 1949, John was employed by GMAC for 42 years. They lived and worked in Wisconsin, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Missouri and Michigan. Following retirement, they moved to Marsh Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach then to Vicar's Landing in 2011. In Florida, Margie was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church, Marsh Landing Garden Club, Brass, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Ponte Vedra Woman's Club and the Jacksonville Symphony Guild. The Davies maintained a close relationship with their alma mater, Butler University. They established the John Davies Family Scholarship Fund in 1996 and have remained close to some of the recipients of the award. They were also boosters of the successful athletic programs at Butler and attended many games over the years. In 2004, Margie was presented the coveted Mortar Award for service to the university. Margie is survived by her husband of 66 years, John; nieces and nephews, Roger and Claire Dial of Modesto, CA, Mark and Missy Pearrow of Dedham, MA; grandson, Joshua Davies of Germany; great grandson, Colin Davies of Little Rock, AR. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 1 at Palms Presbyterian Church.
