Adolph C. A. Baste, 92, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on December 12, 1925 in Haugesund, Norway. Adolph was educated in Norway as a naval architect and marine engineer. He immigrated to America in 1951. Adolph was a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Sons of Norway and St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jane; his sister, Sonja Odland of Haugesund, Norway; two daughters, Elizabeth (Rodney) Margol and Ellen (Neal) Hollingsworth; five grandsons, David (Brooke) Margol, Geoffrey Margol, Bradley (Michelle) Margol, Tyler and Kyle Hollingsworth; and one great-grandson, Lexington Margol. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 1801 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The McGraw Center, Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville 32257.
