Andrew Keltus Emmerth

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) Keltus Emmerth on March 21, 2025 a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Andrew’s life was a testament to the importance of family and religion.
Born on Jan 11, 1935 in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of Robert Michael Emmerth and Agnes Marie Keltus Emmerth. He attended St Michael’s Catholic School and Wheeling Central Catholic High School. He graduated from West Virginia University in 1956 and was an active member of Phi Delta Theta National Fraternity. After graduating from WVU, he joined Republic Steel Corporation in Warren, Ohio in the Industrial Engineering Department. He held multiple management positions retiring after 30 years of service in 1986. He then joined Rome Strip Steel in Rome, NY and celebrated his second retirement in 1998 transitioning to Cortland, Ohio and then in 2019 to Ponte Vedra, FL.
Andy married the love of his life, Diane Alberta Nye of Braceville, Ohio on Sept 29, 1962. They have four wonderful children: Andrea (David) Loyd of Hershey, PA; Alicia Stanislaw of Lenior, NC; Anita (Steven) Strachota of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and Bruce (Dawn) Emmerth of Hudson, OH. They have 9 grandchildren: Drew, Dillon, Dianna and Davey Loyd; Gwyneth and Phoebe Stanislaw; Cameron and Nicholas Strachota; and Blake Emmerth.
Andy enjoyed traveling and camping especially to National Parks with his growing family, along with attending children’s and grandchildren’s sporting, social and academic events. He was an avid skier and golfer. Upon retirement, Andy and Diane traveled to Europe multiple times and enjoyed cruising with family and friends. The Emmerth family continues to partake in an annual week long summer family camping reunion at Camp Elizabeth on Big Wheeling Creek and will celebrate 64 years of family togetherness in 2025.
Andy was proceeded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert (Mary Madge) Emmerth and Thomas (Mary Kay) Emmerth; and his sisters, Helen (James) Cahoon and Rosamund (Bernard) Grubler.
There will be a Funeral Mass held at St John Paul II Catholic Church (127 Stonemason Way, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081) at 10 am on Saturday, March 29 followed by a Celebration of Life from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Anastasia Club in Del Webb Ponte Vedra (1775 River Run Blvd, Ponte Vedra, FL 32081).
