Angela Madaffari (née Angiolina Ruffo) passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. She was born on March 11, 1922, in Castrovillari, Calabria to Carmine Ruffo and Teresa LoPrete. She arrived in the United States in 1930. Angela married her childhood sweetheart, Salvatore, in 1945. They lived in the Bronx until 1985, then in Rye, NY until 2005. They moved to Florida with their daughter, Pamela, and son-in-law, Nicholas Milo. She was a daily communicant at Our Lady Star of the Sea.
Angela was predeceased by baby, Erica Madaffari, a granddaughter, in 1990, and by her husband in 2020 only 3 months after celebrating their 75th anniversary. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Gilda) of Baton Rouge, Pamela (Nicholas Milo) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Catherine (Gary Azzari) of St Johns, FL, Salvatore (Elizabeth) of Jacksonville, and Joseph (Debbie) of Palmetto, FL. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. “Grandma”, as she was affectionately known by everyone, was very much loved by her family and all who knew her. She was the most selfless person. Always putting the needs of each and every one before hers. She will be missed by one and all.
