Blake Julian Sanders, 30, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2018.   Blake was born in Jacksonville, FL, on March 23, 1988, to Sandy Smith Sanders and Bernie Sanders.  He grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach and is survived by his parents; his brother, Brett Sanders (Kelli), of St. Johns, FL; and sister, Brooke of Jacksonville, FL; grandparents, Leonard and Ruth Smith of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Grayson, GA; nieces, Kaileigh and Everley Sanders; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bernard Sr. and Jean Sanders of Atlanta, GA.  Blake was born loving baseball and seized every opportunity to play the game he loved. He graduated from Nease High School, and he was awarded a baseball scholarship to Marshall University, although he ultimately graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina.  Blake was a member of Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church.  After playing professional baseball in the American Baseball League in Texas, he especially relished his acting role in the Movie “42.” This opportunity led Blake to relocate to California to pursue acting.  In addition, he loved to travel on family trips with the Smiths and Sanders.  Blake was the first in line to explore new horizons. At the time of his unexpected death, Blake was back in Jacksonville living near his family.  Blake will be greatly missed by his family and many friends who loved him.  The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 15th, between 11 am and 1 pm, at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  Pastor Richard Cooper will give a Message of Hope immediately following the visitation at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church.
