Chandrakant Raojibhai Patel (CR) of Ponte Vedra Beach passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017. He was born April 12, 1934 in Klerksdorp, South Africa.
“CR” is survived by his wife Shashikala, Son and Daughter-in-law Nimish and Priti Patel, Grandchildren Sonia and Neil (Downingtown, PA), Son and Daughter-in-law Tushar and Parita Patel and Granddaughter Ashnee (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) as well as many other family members and friends.
CR was an exceptional person and very dedicated family man. He settled in Nairobi Kenya where he started and ran a successful Screen printing business which won several internationally acclaimed awards – a testament to his attention to quality.
He was a voracious reader and extremely curious about the world. In his spare time he was active in supporting the Arts and community volunteer projects. He was a lifelong Rotarian and former Chairman of the Nairobi Rotary Club.
CR retired 20 years ago, and resettled in the US to be closer to his family. During his retirement he was active in volunteering activities and a played a leadership and key role in establishing the Hindu temple in Temple TX. He later published a book of Rangoli designs and continued his sketch art activities.
He spent the last 6 years in Ponte Vedra Beach where he remained active in the senior community.
He will always be remembered for his kind, loving heart and generosity.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
