Charles Edwin Satterwhite, Sr., age 93, of Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida, went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 9, 2021. Born in Henderson, North Carolina in 1927, Charles was a United States Navy WWII veteran. He shared sixty-eight years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Rose, moving often in his forty-year career with JCPenney. Loving Jesus, loving his family, spending time with friends, caring for others, and working hard characterized his entire life. He was a faithful Sunday School teacher, an avid golfer, a wonderful storyteller, and an enthusiastic tomato farmer. He enjoyed nurturing his backyard orange tree and sharing its harvest, and he always looked forward to his Wednesday golf group. He and Rose were known for their daily visiting hours outdoors, where there was always an extra chair for those who stopped by. Charles was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his daughter Betsy Granacher (Scott) of St. Augustine, his son Chuck Satterwhite (Kelly) of Macclenny, his grandchildren Jared Satterwhite (Meghan), Joshua Satterwhite (Crystal), Jacob Satterwhite (Cari), Jordan Satterwhite, Lynette Granacher Riggs (Chayne), and his many precious great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Alston Satterwhite, his parents Tucker Clements Satterwhite and Thelma Blanks Satterwhite, his brothers T.C. Satterwhite and Ralph Carl Satterwhite, and his sisters Catherine Weldon, Helen Moore, and Barbara Watkins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 14, 2021, 1 pm at Ponte Vedra Valley, with a private burial to follow.
