Charles F. Underhill, Jr., 90, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away in his sleep on February 9, 2017.  His spouse of 65 years, Janice Schwartz Underhill, had recently passed away on November 18, 2016.

Charlie was born in Orlando, FL, on May 30, 1926.  After graduating from St. James Catholic High School in Orlando, he served in the US Navy.  Later, Charlie continued his education at the University of Florida and graduated in 1950 with a BS in Business.

After graduating Charlie started his career in the automotive industry with Ford Motor Company in the Jacksonville, FL, district.  His career included the ownership of an automotive dealership and he spent the final 10 years as a 20-group consultant with Nation Automotive Dealership Association (NADA).

Charlie is survived by his sister, Rita O’Brian of Orlando, FL; three sons, Trey Underhill (Carol) of Cumming, GA, Tom Underhill (Travis) of Fancy Gap, VA, and Tim Underhill of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Underhill, who graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and is currently stationed in Bethesda, MD, where she is working toward a medical degree.

The burial service will be held at a US National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida at 4566 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 in memory of Janice & Charles.
