Thomas and I are saddened to announce that on Saturday, May 23, 2026, our Father, Daniel Francis Senecal, passed away at the age of 83. Surrounded by family and friends, he went peacefully into the night.

Born in New York City in July of 1943 to Doris Rita Senecal. Dan moved to Woonsocket, RI, briefly before ultimately residing in Sarasota, FL. Raised by his mother, Pearl and Busch Bouchard, he attended St. Martha’s parochial school and enjoyed childhood with his lifelong friend Curran Smith. A graduate of Sarasota High School, Dan went on to attend Florida State University, where he paid his own way by joining the ROTC and working multiple jobs. A Lieutenant in the US Army, Dan served his country honorably as second in command and community liaison on a supply base in Korea.

After his service, Dan traveled the world selling and installing warehouse systems for the US Government and private industry. He served many years on the board of directors of the Raymond Material Handling Corporation and represented Raymond in the mid-Atlantic region and to the Federal Government worldwide as dealer principal of the Werres Corporation.

Despite all his success, Dan was humble, loving, and generous. He believed in hard work, persistence, and faith in family above all else. The true definition of the American dream, Dan put in long hours yet never missed family dinner or a son’s game or event. His career began as an administrative assistant and ended up owning that very successful material handling company.

Dan was married for almost 50 years to his beloved wife, Claire Marie Senecal; and is survived by his two sons, Matthew Alten Senecal and Thomas Albert Senecal; and his 4 grandchildren, Wilson, Jack, Ryan, and Lila.

A Memorial Service will be held a Ponte Vedra Valley on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service.
