Darryl Wayne Dockins, 84, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, following a full and meaningful life. Born in Alexandria, VA on November 13, 1941 to Wayne Dockins and Ruth Howell, he graduated from Mount Vernon High School and served in the United States Army. He later enjoyed a long career as a software engineer with AT&T in White Plains, NY.

Darryl married Joan Maxwell, the love of his life, in San Francisco, CA in 1969. They raised three sons, then retired to Alliance, NE. In later years they moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where they lived until Joan's passing in 2022.

Darryl had a lifelong love of science and technology and enjoyed genealogy, class reunions, chess, cats, and eclairs. He especially valued tracing family histories and bringing people together.

He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Matthew, Mark, and Michael, daughter-in-law Gwenola, grandchildren Benjamin and Gabriel, and extended family and friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

A private Memorial Service will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley.
