Daw Khin Saw Lin was born in Nahtoogyi, Myanmar, on April 8, 1947. She graduated from the University of Rangoon with Bachelor Degree of Education (BEd.) in 1970 and dedicated her career to building the good foundation of knowledge and discipline for the next generation. She was later appointed as the deputy director in planning for the Ministry of Education. After her retirement, she became an entrepreneur in estates development and management.
She is always in positive vibe, her smile was infectious, and her love was universal. She is enriched with wisdom and resources and always willing to provide help who ever needed. She loved traveling and making new friends, who got closer to her heart years after years. She is kind and generous. She constantly supports the religious as well as charity organizations including the Jacksonville Myanmar Association, cancer foundation, and animal shelters.
She was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in November 2020. She took her terminal illness in realistic view and invested her quality time with her family and meritorious deeds. She did not take any pain medicine nor require oxygen support until the last few days of her life. She passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023, at 12:12 pm.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. U Kyee Myint; her only daughter, Dr. Myint Myat Thway; son-in-law, Dr. Win Myint Aung; and grandchildren, Carrie and Wyatt.
