Deborah Joy Hatcher (Reneka), 69, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026. She was born on July 21, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to John Reneka and Kate Madden.
Deborah graduated from John Glenn High School before dedicating her early adult years to being a devoted stay-at-home mother, lovingly raising her three sons with her former husband, Rick Moore, who remained an important part of her family’s story. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother. She was incredibly proud of her three boys and loved them more than anything. She later built a career that included working as a real estate broker, an office manager, and most recently with her longtime friend, Orlando Lucas, at his tree service. Throughout her life, Deborah valued hard work, loyalty, and the lasting friendships she made along the way.
Deborah especially loved spending time with her beloved dog, Danielle, whose faithful companionship brought her comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. She also cherished time spent with family and found joy in life’s simple moments. She had a deep love for travel and enjoyed collecting bells from all over the world as keepsakes of her journeys. She found creative joy in making necklaces from sea glass she discovered along the beach, and collecting shark teeth was another favorite pastime. She even transformed some of those finds into artwork inspired by drawings from her son, Bob.
She is survived by her sons, Ryan Moore (partner Lea Salvatore) and Roger Moore (partner Erica Benson); her grandson, Donovan Moore; her former husband, Rick Moore; and many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Moore, and her husband, Dan Hatcher.
Deborah will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
Deborah will be remembered for her caring heart & dedication to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
