Donna Peery Green, faithful Christian, devoted wife and mother, passed into heaven on December 3, 2022, after a tragic fall. Donna was born September 24, 1946 and graduated from FSU. For 32 years Donna served as a beloved and much-requested kindergarten teacher, retiring in 2008. Yet Donna’s major passion and greatest work product was her family. In her marriage to George Green for 52 years and her close relationship to her daughters, Lindy Lollar & Kristen Sweet, Donna found her deepest passion. They were her primary focus and she loved them endlessly.
Each day she talked with her daughters, and each day Donna was delighted with their presence in her life, as the three of them shared daily life together. As her seven grandchildren entered their life, Donna was overjoyed.
Donna was the heart of this family. She led gently, quietly, and wisely; she created joy for all those who came into her presence. She served her church faithfully in many ways. Her deep faith was embedded in her actions. The Word of the Lord was the lamp unto her feet and a light unto her path, and many of her days in her last years were spent studying scripture.
Donna is survived by her husband, George Green; her daughter, Lindy Lollar (Ken), and their daughters Isabella and Sophia; daughter, Kristen Sweet (Christopher) and their children: Noelle, Cade, Hamilton, Stratton Lee, and John Elliott; her brother, Richard Peery (Kimberly); nephew, Charles; niece, Kendall; her brother, David Peery; her brother-in-law, Roger (Sandra) Green; and niece, Carly Jewel Green. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hancel & Charles Peery, as well as her brother, William Peery.
We will remember Donna's favorite bible verse: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" -- Isaiah 41:10. Donna is now present in heaven…yet she remains with us, a vibrant, beautiful, and dynamic presence that we will never lose. She is an abiding force with us always.
The visitation for Donna will be held at Deermeadows Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 10am, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Inn Ministries.
