Douglas W. Maxwell, 96, of Ponte Vedra Beach died (November 18, 2025.  He was born December 4, 1928, in New York City to Douglas P. and Grace Kane Williamson Maxwell. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, David. Survivors include his wife of (46) years, Libby Preston Maxwell, of Ponte Vedra Beach; a sister-in-law, Jane Maxwell of Greenwich, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

Raised in Riverside, CT, Doug graduated from Greenwich High School and from the University of Miami in Coral Gables where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He also graduated from the University of Miami Law School and was a 35-year member of the Florida Bar.

Doug was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War with the 3rd Infantry Division. He later retired from Barnett Banks Trust Company.

At Doug's request, there will be no formal services. Burial at a later date at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.
