On May 19, 1949 a living legend, Robert Charles Gibson took his first breath in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Born into a large family with roots throughout the Philadelphia/New York area. At age fourteen "Bobbie" as he was known then, became a licensed barber. He dreamt big and relocated to Davenport Iowa to pursue a degree in Chiropractic Medicine. That's when he met the love of his life Mary, who he married in 1974. After his graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic, they relocated to Pennsylvania where they raised their four children who he loved with all his heart. He established the first Gibson Chiropractic Clinic on the corner of Broad Street and Lindley Avenue in Philadelphia. Robert began his legacy out of that one clinic where he practiced for many years. He was active in his community and even dabbled in politics with the slogan ,"Gibson Makes the Difference".

He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Widener University in 1990. He established multiple locations of Chiropractic and Legal offices. He was a licensed Attorney and practiced law in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Florida. He had Chiropractic offices in Pennsylvania and Florida. In 1998 he made roots in Jacksonville, Florida where he was often recognized for his creative commercials and became affectionately known as "The Law Doc". Some labeled him "The Living Legend " which made him laugh. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, impeccable taste, and as one who always credited God for supplying all of his needs. Robert Gibson lived a life that deserves applause.

He was the family man who worked hard and laughed harder. When he wasn't working, he could be found relaxing with his wife and watching his favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He often told his family that he was their biggest cheerleader and he was. He was quick to share his love and advice along with his latest favorite joke.

Some called him Dr. Gibson, to others he was Doc or Bobbie, Robert, dad or grandpa. Only Mary called him "Pook". His legacy will always remain through the memories and lives of his family. He is survived by his sisters Gwen and Nora, his younger brother Joseph, and a large extended family. He leaves behind Mary, his loving bride of 48 years, his four children, Jennifer, Becca (Steven Vaughn), Glen and Kate (John Hatfield). He was blessed with ten grandchildren; Michael, Anna, Mary, Elijah, Julie, Jonah, Wyatt, Evelyn, Hannah and Helen Hailey. May Robert Charles Gibson rest in eternal slumber, at peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers and in tribute to the deceased the family requests that you honor him by hugging your loved ones and telling them they are loved; and then perform a random act of kindness. Make the world a better place because you're still in it.
