HAYWARD Elsa Wright Hayward passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015, after a sudden illness. She was born Elsa Ruth Haugh to Dr. F. Gilbert and Ruth Johnson Haugh on September 12, 1924, in Beaver, PA. In high school, Elsa dated the love of her life, John G. (Jack) Wright. They married in 1946 and had two children. Their lives led them to Michigan, then to Jacksonville, FL, where they lived since 1973. After Jack's death in 1998, she married a childhood friend, Smith D. Hayward, who also predeceased her. Elsa was a gracious lady, always proper in her manners, with a warm loving smile and hugs for her family and friends. She loved music and dancing. Elsa was given a gift of art, and everything that she did incorporated her artistic talents. She was loyal to her family and friends, keeping them close through cards, letters and phone calls when the distance was too great for personal visits. Her deep faith sustained her through every day. Elsa is survived by her brother, Gerald G. Haugh and his wife, Sue Ann of San Antonio, TX; her children, Victoria and Todd Cripps of Jacksonville, and Gilbert and Elizabeth Wright of Decatur, GA; her grandchildren, Christi Cripps (Sue Molare) and Stephanie Wright (Michael) Frisch; great grandchildren, Sarah (Sidney) Lewis, Casey (Kiana) Ehlert, Kristin (Andrew) O'Brien; great great grandchildren, Aden, Marshall, Thomas and Benjamin. Her great-great grandson, Aden Ehlert, was her number 1 man in her last years, her name to him was Super-Grammy and they shared a love that will transcend time. Elsa will also be missed by the Hayward family and her extended family and friends. A celebration of life service for Elsa will be held on Wednesday, December 16 at 2:00 PM at CrossRoad Church UMC, 10005 Gate Parkway N, Jacksonville, FL. A time to greet family and friends will take place immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, Elsa has requested memorial donations to Wolfson Children's Hospital, Art with a Heart program, 841 Prudential Drive Suite 150, Jacksonville, FL 32207, www.artwithaheart.info.
