With heavy heart, the family of Frederick Allenspach would like to share that he passed away on January 16, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. Fred graduated from the Polytechnical Institute of Brooklyn, and went on to serve in the Army from 1954-1956. Fred began his career as a nuclear engineer at Brookhaven Labs on Long Island, and later continued in that field with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in the Washington, D.C. area.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Frederick William Allenspach and Ruth Allenspach (nee Riekert); and his sister, Ruth Brookhart.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Ruth Allenspach; children, Frederick, Janet (Eric), and Laurie (John); and grandchildren, Jenna and Natalie (Alec). Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy was his family.
Fred is a cancer survivor who completed several Cumberland Valley 50-mile races. He was also an avid gardener, enjoyed vacations, travel, and captaining his O'Day sailboat the 'Winsome' on the Chesapeake Bay. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
