Gail Marie Culbreth, 63, breathed her last breath on earth in Jacksonville, Florida, and her first breath in Heaven, May 27, 2020, after fighting a 5½ year battle with cancer. Born Gail Marie Stoddard in Minneapolis, MN on March 2, 1957 to Dennis and Audrey Stoddard.

After growing up in Minneapolis, she met Craig Culbreth, a young Baptist preacher who walked into the bank where Gail was working. She opened his bank account, and both of their hearts were opened to each other. They married on June 26, 1982.

Together, they served churches in Minnesota, Georgia, and Florida. God blessed them with three boys; Jonathan, Jeremy and Joshua. Jonathan married Brittany. Jeremy married Lindsey. Josh married Amber. Then Gail started the life of a grandmother, adopting her favorite name to be called, “Blessed Grandma”.

She adored her grandkids; Camryn, Claire, Carly, Caleb, Bryson, Coleson, and Wesly (due in August). She is preceded in death by her dad, Dennis, and grandson, Wyatt. Survived by her mother Audrey Stoddard and siblings, Lynette (Jim) Kornman, Dede (Randy) Martin, Greg (Betty) Stoddard, Randy (Debbie) Stoddard, and has multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She believed she would win in her fight with Cancer. She would say “I win either way.. I get healed here on earth or I get healed when I enter heaven. “ She is a winner!!

Gail loved working in the preschool ministry at her church, Fruit Cove Baptist Church. She loved the beach, spending time with family, and her love for Jesus was so obvious every day in her life. She will be missed.

The Celebration Service will be held Monday June 1st at 10:30 am at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Road 13, St. Johns, FL.

Officiating the celebration will be Dr. Craig Culbreth, Dr. Tim Maynard and Rev. Lynn Hyatt.
