Georgia Edith Barnes (Carter), born on February 21, 1944, in St. Augustine, passed away on November 14, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. Georgia dedicated many years of service to CSX Transportation, where her diligence and commitment greatly contributed to her professional community.

She is survived by her loving children: Angie (Tracy) Poor and Paul Kirby Sutton, as well as her brothers: George (Nan), Campbell, and James (Candy) Carter. Georgia was preceded in death by her son, James Sutton.

A private family celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Georgia can be made to the American Cancer Association. Her legacy will live on through her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
