On Sunday, September 24, 2023, Gwendolyn Caroline Dixon aka “Miss Gwennie”, loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, went home to be with our Lord at the age of 93 years old. Gwen was born on July 6, 1930, the second child of Nehemiah and Emeline White, in the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies. She attended the Mount Vernon All Age School until aged 13 years old. She was married to Kenneth L. Dixon, with whom she raised 9 children.

Gwen was a great mother and caretaker, faithful Christian and active churchgoer who loved singing, dancing and sports (the New York Yankees and Knicks were her favorite teams). Her passion for God was immense and infectious. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 sisters: Beverly, Iva, and Icilda; her husband, Kenneth; son, Lloyd “Boy Blue” and 2 grandchildren: Tisha and Dexion. She is survived by 8 children: Yvonne, Ainsley (Carlene), Everton, Cordette, Lynden, Gweneth (Will), Jaseth, and Kenneth, Jr. (Aldith); 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Dixon will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home, located at 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, 32082. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, with Funeral Services at 11:00 am.
