He treasured the love and support of his parents.  The family lived in Lehr, Brocket, Robinson, and Steele in North Dakota before moving to Starkweather, North Dakota, where he graduated High School and was a member of the Class of 1950.  He attended the University of North Dakota where in 1957, after four years of college and two years as an officer in the US Army, primarily in Germany, he received his undergraduate degree.  Quentin played on the UND basketball team for two seasons. He later received a graduate degree from the University of North Dakota.

He lived in Hallock, Minnesota, where he was a teacher and successful basketball coach. Quentin later accepted a position with Northwestern Bell for several years and moved back and forth many times between: Fargo, Bismark, Dickinson, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, along with Omaha, and Rochester, Minnesota.  He continued his career with International Telephone and Telegraph Company in Madrid, Spain, and Brussels, Belgium, before moving to Fairfield, Connecticut, while he commuted into New York City.  He later moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland where he worked for Fairfield Industries and Comsat Corporation in Maryland and Washington D.C., before starting his own business doing Executive Development and Outplacement.  After selling his businesses and retiring, he moved to Maryland’s Eastern Shore before their final move to Ponte Vedra, Florida, in 2012.

Ila Joyce Dahl Englerth (September 15, 1931 – May 22, 2023) was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Alfred and Emma Dahl. She is preceded in death by her parents, and she is survived by her brother Lyle Dahl and sister Bonnie Dahl Hoffarth.

She attended school in her hometown of Hampden, North Dakota, before she was a dental assistant in Edina, Minnesota. Her joy in life was to take care of others and love everyone.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Ila Joyce and Quentin met in high school and were married on August 18, 1957, in Zoar Lutheran Church. They are survived by their son, Gregory; daughters, Barbara and Lisa; seven grandchildren: Nicole, RJ, Michael, Sarah, Bryan, Jack, and Parker; and two great grandchildren: Eddie and Colt.

Their love for life was large and their Christian faith was always important.  They lived in 14 locations, and they traveled the US and the world – 5 continents and 55 countries.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary exploring China and the Far East.  Exploring and enjoying life was what they lived for, along with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
