DUNN Eugene F. Dunn (GENE) passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16 with his beloved wife Helen of 59 years and adoring children at his side. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, in-law and grandfather. Gene was born December 11, 1932 in NYC and married his High School Sweetheart, Helen, in 1954. He attended All Hollows High School (1951) NYC and was a graduate of Manhattan College (1955) NYC. Gene was a Marine and proud American. He loved the NY Yankees and fondly spoke of his days as a youngster working at Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds. Gene had a successful career at Western Electric and AT&T, retiring as a Vice President. He was President of The Plantation Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, where he and his wife spent many years together playing golf and enjoying life. Gene had a great sense of humor and was a loyal friend. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and for providing a foundation of love that will last a lifetime. The memories he gave us with summers in Bay Head, NJ, will always be cherished. He is survived by his loving wife Helen; their six adoring children: Gene, Philip (Carla), Brian (Cheri), Kelley Ann O'Connor (Paul), Marcey Schaefer (Billy), and Danny (Katie); sixteen proud grandchildren: Philip, Maggie, Ellen, Grace, Mickey, Sean, Colin, Jack, Dillon, Elizabeth, Billy, Kiera, Patrick, Anna, Brogan and Tommy; his many nieces and nephews; his Uncle Walter and Aunt Eileen Owens; in-laws Catherine & Mickey Breslin; sisters Margie Jackson and Barbara Lynn Dunn. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in Gene's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
