Ivy Daniel Perry Jr., affectionately known as Dan, joyfully embraced life until his passing on July 3, 2026, at the age of 76, in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Born on March 17, 1950, in Charleston, South Carolina, Dan was a beacon of love and laughter, deeply cherished by all who knew him.

After graduating high school, Dan answered his country’s call, serving honorably in the Marine Corps, where he was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Marksmanship Badge. His commitment and service aptly prepared him for a successful career in engineering.

After completing the General Electric Field of Engineering Program, Dan dedicated 18 years to General Electric, gaining invaluable expertise in steam, mechanical, and nuclear turbines. He later realized his dream by becoming the proud owner of Turbine Man Inc., where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2022.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dan’s life was filled with love and adventure. He was passionate about building hot rods, attending roadster shows, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Dan was a proud member of The Street Rods Unlimited, where he found camaraderie and joy.

Dan built a loving family over the years, leaving behind his cherished wife of 18 years, Janice Perry; his children, Christopher Perry (Kelly), Nicholas Perry (Candace), and Lindsay Perry Rish (Blake); stepmother, Judy Perry; stepsister, Nancy Mitchum Miller (Roy); and grandchildren, Bryce Perry, Logan Perry, Gavin Perry, Mason Perry, Perry Rish, Cameron Rish, and Zoe Perry. He was also the proud companion to his four fur babies: Lilly, Charlie, Makenzie, and Ash.

Dan will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his vibrant spirit, kindness, and unwavering support. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Margaret; father, Ivy Sr.; brother, Randall; and son, Ryan.

A funeral service will take place at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home, located at 4750 Palm Valley Rd, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, beginning at 5:00 PM.

A graveside ceremony will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, located at 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 9:30 AM. Together, we will honor and celebrate Dan’s legacy, cherishing the joy he brought into our lives.
