James Henry Stewart Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2026. James was born on July 15, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, to James and Mary Stewart. He graduated from St. Columbkille High School in Allston, Massachusetts, in 1959.
Following high school, James attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and began his path toward becoming a pharmacist. Later in life he earned his Masters degree in Business from Pepperdine University.
On October 24, 1964, James married the love of his life, Linda Stewart, in Randolph, Massachusetts. Together they shared more than six decades of marriage filled with love, activity, and adventure. As he and his wife, Linda, began their family, James devoted himself to being a loving husband and father. In later years, he moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where he founded The Stewart Group, an executive recruitment firm.
James was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis with Linda. Together, they loved traveling the world. He adored his grandchildren and was a constant, loving presence of their lives.
A devoted member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, James served as a Eucharistic Minister and as warmly welcoming others as they gathered for mass.
James is survived by his four children, Laurie (Marc) Losee (GA), Cathleen (Fran) Coyne (FL), Brian Stewart (FL) and Daniel (Dawn Morris) Stewart (FL); and six cherished grandchildren, James (Molly) Losee (GA), Kyle Losee (GA), John (Johnny) Prevost (FL), Kaylyn Losee (GA), Elise (Ellie) Stewart (FL) and Asher Coyne (FL).
A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 11, 2026, 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Star Catholic Church. Following the mass, a graveside service and reception will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley to which all are welcomed to join.
