James Martin Powell, 71, passed away April 29, 2017.  He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 20, 1946, to Harry and Dorothy Powell.  James proudly served his country in the US Army, was a member of the American Legion, loved traveling and detailing cars. He also served with the Cherry Hill Police (NJ) Department for over 40 years as a police officer, detective and mentor.  James is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; sons, Justin (Naomi), Colin (Lily) and Brett; grandchildren, Paige, Alexandra, Dom, Olivia and Chase.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8 at Ponte Vedra Valley.  Reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 (www.pancan.org).
