Jane Klaric Francis de Chantal Vranesh, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on January 23rd, 2024 at the age of 72.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Mary Klaric, Jane grew up in New York, Munich and Washington, DC before graduating from the University of Maryland College Park with a degree in Art History. She applied her unique talents in fine art, writing and advertising to the architectural field, working for HOK in St. Louis, where she met her future husband, Michael. They married and settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, raising children Paul and Eileen. Throughout her life, Jane treasured the deep family bonds she forged near and far, culminating in a pilgrimage to the birthplace of her grandmother in a rural town in Czech Republic. Thus, she is survived not only by her children and loving husband, but also by cousins halfway around the world, aunts and uncles spanning generations, and family friends dating back to her grandparents’ arrival in America.

Jane will be best remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her courage and her faith. With an infectious smile and a knowing wink, she sought to brighten the spirits of every soul she encountered. She shone brightest with a palette in her hand, or seated at her upright piano, or hammering at her beloved typewriter, expressions of her beaming creativity and reservoir of imagination that she ensured would be passed along to her children as she encouraged them to pursue their passions and above all be every bit of themselves. In her later years, as she faced down a breast cancer diagnosis, and, later, what proved to be an overwhelming metastatic breast cancer battle, she continually fought for her life, a life of love for her family and faith in God that carried her through numerous challenges, but also countless adventures.

Jane will be celebrated at a funeral Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL on Monday, January 29th at 2PM and will be laid to rest near her parents in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, please donate to her Susan G. Komen breast cancer education fundraising page at www.info-komen.org/goto/janevranesh
