Jean Lynch passed away peacefully under hospice care at her home in South Ponte Vedra Beach, FL on November 5, 2021. Jean was born in New Haven, CT on March 25, 1924, the daughter of John Klausen and Florence Emma Johnson Klausen. She lived in New Haven with her late husband Lawrence Lynch, raising three children- Nancy, Larry, and Kirt. In 1961, her husband’s automobile sales work led her and the family to Carlisle, PA. Jean and her husband re-located in 1973 to the St. Augustine area, where they eventually settled in South Ponte Vedra Beach.

Jean and her husband were longtime active members of the South Ponte Vedra Civic Association (SPVCA) and contributed to the establishment of the South Ponte Vedra Volunteer Fire Department in 1976. She led the SPVCA decorating committee for several years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is remembered for her caring and affectionate nature with both family and friends. She was beautiful in spirit as she was in person. She was the consummate party host and often treated as the grand dame at social functions.

Jean is preceded in death by her late husband Lawrence, her brother John, daughter Nancy, and son Larry. She is survived by her brother Paul, son Kirt, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the South Ponte Vedra Civic Association in South Ponte Vedra Beach on March 26 at 2 p.m.
