Jerry McCoy, longtime resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021.  He was born November 2, 1942, in Paoli, IN, to Robert Stanley McCoy and Ida Mae Radcliffe McCoy.

Jerry grew up in rural Indiana and at the age of 18 joined the United States Navy where he proudly and honorably served for 22 years.  He retired as Master Chief Electrician’s Mate in 1983.

In 1986, he and his fishing buddy, Jerry Gray, opened Double J’s Repair Shop in what he always called “Downtown Palm Valley”.  He and Ronda, and so many faithful employees helped establish a thriving small engine and landscape supply business for 32 years.  He finally retired in 2018.

Jerry is survived by Ronda, his loving wife of 45 years; two sons, Barry (Dana) McCoy, and Jerry Wayne McCoy; sister, Nancy Smith of Indiana; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Nathan, Jason, and Patrick; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bud and Bob McCoy; sisters, Judy Riley and Ann Leach; daughter, Robin Lynn Pugh; granddaughters, Heather and Linde; and daughter-in-law, Susan McCoy.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Palm Valley Baptist Church, 4890 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor George Powers officiating.  Interment will follow at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery with full Military Honors.
