Jerry Lee Floyd, a 40-year resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on December 5, 2018, at the age of 76.  His long battle with Parkinson’s due to Agent Orange in Viet Nam has ended.  Jerry was a graduate of the University of Tampa and many graduate programs.  He was a Captain in the Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division.  He was a decorated veteran of Viet Nam and a recipient of many medals including the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal, for heroism and meritorious service.  Jerry was an avid boater, from sailing to power, and loved his golf!  His wife, children, and family members remember him as a supportive and fun-loving man who encouraged them to pursue their goals.  Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Michelle Floyd; his mother, Dorothy Lee Floyd; father, Francis Floyd; sister, Laurie Coleman; brothers, Don & Bruce Floyd; six children, Chris I. Floyd, Rhonda Floyd Melton, Allison Floyd Tatum, Kathleen Floyd Morgan, Jack Brantley Floyd, and Christopher Rahming Floyd; daughters-in-law, Dede Rahming Floyd, Mary Alice Floyd; sons-in-law, Charles Moran, Tony Tatum; grandchildren, Zachary Tatum, Kadin Floyd, Kristin Floyd and Alex Melton.  He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with Honors.
