Jerry (John) Donahue passed away on Friday, January 12 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on July 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jerry was the loving husband of Joan, who will sorely miss him every day. It is true that grief is the cost of love. Joan and Jerry were together for 48 years. Sarah and Katie were his loving daughters who made his life complete. He was so sad when he was the only one left of his four siblings: Frank, Madeline, Tom, and Terese. Jerry was so proud of his four grandchildren: Ben, Deimos, Maddie, and Ella. He was also close to his nieces and nephews.
Jerry graduated from St. Basil High School in Pittsburgh. He was proud to have earned his certification in Information Processing Systems through Cambridge Training Center at MIT. Jerry worked at AT&T until he retired. Then, he went on to work at a small telephone company in Central PA. Following, he working in Communications at PHEAA. Jerry served in the Coast Guard and was a proud Mason. He enjoyed spending time (talking) with family and friends. Jerry truly was a hit of a gathering. He especially enjoyed food, friends, and of course, a good glass of Scotch. Jerry spent his last hours doing what he loved to do, being with friends, eating a good meal, and having a Scotch and water.
