John "Jack" Carney, 74, passed away peacefully November 8 in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  He was also a resident of Bass Harbor, ME.  Jack was a graduate of Boston University.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Theresa “Terri”; sons, Peter (Carrie) of Portland, ME, and Patrick (Kirsten) of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Joseph (Gloria) Carney  of Mineola, NY; granddaughters, Rivers Lea and Grace Frances.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13 from 2-5 pm at Ponte Vedra Valley.  A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea on Monday, November 14 at 11 am with a reception to follow at 30 Pelican Pointe Road (Coastal Oaks), Ponte Vedra, FL 32081.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maine Seacoast Mission 127 West Street, Bass Harbor, ME 04609, c/o Scott Fish.
