Joyce Cornelia Rabun McCook went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on August 12, 2016. A true southern belle, Joyce was born on June 25, 1936 and raised in Augusta, GA. She was the proud mother of three beautiful daughters, Lei Anne Jordan, Tina Alfieri, and Tia Martin. Joyce was a retired nurse and a wonderful, loving sister, wife, mother, and Nana. Joyce’s fun loving personality and her big loving heart truly made her one of a kind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker S. O’Tyson and John W. Rabun; her brother, Walker R. Rabun; her faithful husband of 42 years, Roland S. McCook; as well as her beloved grandson, Paul B. Jordan, Jr. Joyce’s greatest achievement was raising a Christian family with her husband, Roland. Her legacy as a Godly, giving woman and her complete devotion to her family will be remembered by those who survive her including her siblings, Laverne Mock, Helen Sheppard, Joe O’Tyson, and Jack O’Tyson; her three daughters; her grandchildren, Abigail Jordan, Tripper Martin, and Mary Cornelia Martin. A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 pm on Friday, August 19, at Fruit Cove Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00 pm.
