Judith Anne Metts May was born on May 26, 1944 and passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 in Ponte Vedra, FL.
Judy was a devoted and loving wife to her husband of over 60 years, Ed May. She was kind, a caring Mother and Mimi, a loyal friend, a woman with a strong moral compass, and quick-witted with a wonderful sense of humor.
Throughout her life with her husband, Judy’s journeys took her to Savannah, San Francisco, Ponte Vedra Beach, Atlanta, Nashville, Baltimore, and Palm Coast. Still, Atlanta and North Florida were the places she called home.
Judy loved gardening, the color pink, The New York Times crossword, puzzles, sewing, dogs (especially Tipper), and singing with friends-always knowing every word. She could never resist a garden center, a good pun, a glass of chardonnay, or the chance to correct a grammar mistake.
She is preceded in her death by her parents, Andrew Lee Metts and Lila McRoy Metts and is survived by her husband Ed May, daughter Allison Jackson (Davis), son Michael May (Travis), granddaughters Reese Jackson and Emmie Propst, sister Linda Lewis, and chosen family Ron and Kathy Kessner and their extended family.
We will miss her terribly, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and in a better place. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and the love, wisdom and values she instilled in us will continue to guide us every day.
