Katherine Kikuno Stroud, 93, born October 18, 1926, in Kukuhalei, Hawaii, passed on May 10, 2020, Mother's Day, from late stage Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born to Kana and Kama Nagamine of Naha, Okinawa.  Kay leaves behind three sons, Charles (Linda) Nagamine of Honolulu, HI, Darryl (Carol) Curry of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Preston Stroud of Dania, FL; and was predeceased by her son, Ricky Ader. Kay has four grandchildren, Edward Baker, Steve Baker, Jennifer (Craig) Grafmiller, and Avi Stroud; along with three great grandchildren, Justin (Ragin) Baker, Harris Baker, and Ashlyn Baker. Kay was one of 10 brothers and sisters, all raised in Hawaii, and are all deceased. She enjoyed sewing toy animals and donating them to Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Kay also helped on many charity events for seniors and children.  She worked many jobs in her lifetime, from raising her sons, to working at the Methodist Hospital in the bakery, to an admitting clerk at the hospital. Kay arrived in Jacksonville on June 21, 1967, and had many friends at Methodist Hospital, Riverside Apartments, and Riverside House where she resided for many years. Kay`s last residence was at Lifecare of Jacksonville where Kay had many friends including Teri, Erin, Liz, Jane (who was wonderful) and the many nurses and CNAs that took care of all her needs. Because of COVID-19, we will celebrate her passing at a later date. Kay`s remains will be taken back to Hawaii by her family to be placed in a family plot. Aloha and Mahalo to ALL.
