Kathleen “Kathy” Burnett Barnish entered into rest on August 8, 2025, at her home in Evans, GA.

Kathy was born October 11, 1960, in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from West Jefferson high school, in Harvey, LA, in 1978. She later married Michael Barnish in 1983. Kathy & Michael had three sons that they loved dearly, Jason, Matthew, & Brandon.

After high school, she trained to become a stenographer.

Her true calling was clear. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother - following the example set by her own mother. She dedicated her life to raising her children. She took great pride in the many accomplishments of her sons during her life - from mending scraped knees, and healing broken hearts, to sending her sons to serve our country, as her father did before them. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, and making the holidays magical.

She had a gift for bringing peace to those around her always looking at the positive, never holding a grudge, calming tensions with kindness and understanding. No matter the circumstance, she would find the silver lining and bring hope to every situation. Kathy’s loving and caring spirit will continue to live on through her sons. Her very being touched the hearts of everyone that had ever crossed her path in life.

She will be missed dearly.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur & Thelma Burnett, and her youngest son, Brandon Barnish. She is survived by her brothers, Daniel & Jonathan Burnett, her husband, Michael Barnish, two sons, Jason & Matthew Barnish, and her treasured grandchildren, Dylan Barnish & Olivianna Adams.
