ORTAGUS Kathryn May (Hedstrom) Ortagus, 56, passed away on Thursday, October 23, in Gainesville, Florida, after a short illness. An avid lover of cooking, the outdoors, and her animals, Kathryn was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family, and it was in this manner that she passed. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, Vernon, of Live Oak, her stepson, Dusty, of Gainesville, her brother, Don Jr., of Jacksonville, and by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Ann Hedstrom, and by her beloved nephew, Dr. Martin Hedstrom. Services are planned for Ponte Vedra Valley Memorial Gardens, 4750 Palm Valley Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, at 1 PM on Sunday, Nov. 16.
