Kimberly Smith Vogt of Bishopville, SC, passed away on Friday November 14th surrounded by her family. She was born on July 9, 1957 to Thomas Bruce Smith II and Dorothy T. Smith.
Kim was known for her love of travel and devotion to her family. She and her husband, Brian, shared 45 years of marriage and countless adventures around the world. Kim attended Jacksonville University, where she met Brian and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.
She spent most of her adult life in Central Florida, where she raised their three beautiful children, and recently returned to Jacksonville to be closer to family. Kim enjoyed cross-stitch and embroidery, and her handcrafted pieces were displayed throughout her home.
Kim is survived by her loving husband Brian Vogt; children Amanda Leonard, Chaz Leonard, Brian J. Vogt Jr., Peggy Vogt, Matt Ham; grandchildren Emma Kate Leonard, Sara Beth Leonard, Madison Ham; siblings Fostina Smith Andrews (Tina), Fritz Smith; and mother Dorothy T. Smith. She is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Bruce Smith III and father, Thomas Bruce Smith II.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 22nd at Memorial Chapel 2509 Green Lane Bishopville SC 29010 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend Kim’s Celebration of Life. She will be buried at Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery.
