Laura Ann Blackburn Davis passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side, on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at HarborChase Assisted Living and Memory Care in Jacksonville, FL.

Ann graduated from Beaver Creek High School in West Jefferson, NC, and achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA. After having lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Oregon and California, she chose Jacksonville, FL, as her permanent home and combined her love of fashion with a part-time career in modeling. She also enjoyed growing orchids, making beautiful art quilts, and caring for her precious toy poodle, Taffy.

Born December 28, 1942 in Deep Gap, NC, she was the daughter of the late Spencer Theodore Blackburn and Doris Beshears Blackburn. She is survived by her daughter and loving caregiver, Cynthia (Candy) Robin Davis of Jacksonville, FL; her daughter, Joy McNutt and husband, Joseph, and her granddaughter, Hillary, all of Kathleen, GA; her sister, Nancy Jeanne Smith of Jacksonville, FL; her sister-in-law, Gail Blackburn, of Deep Gap, NC.; her nieces, Sherry Edwards and husband, Roger, of Winston-Salem, NC, Karen Smith of Durham, NC and Beverly Blunck and husband, Scott, of Jacksonville, FL; her grandniece, Caroline Blunck, and grandnephews, Jason Edwards and Tristan Campos.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jackie Blackburn.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April, 2, at 2:00pm at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home, 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
