Lawrence M. (Larry) Gonzales, 84,  passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.   He was born on June 27, 1938 in Oakland, California to Manuel and Lillian Gonzales. He graduated from Castlemont High School, Oakland, California in 1956.  After school he went to work for Gerber Babyfood and then on to California Highway Patrol in 1966. Larry married Gail on April 2, 1983. Larry then retired, he was an avid golfer moving to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1993 to play golf. He also enjoyed traveling the world, dancing, playing cards and water sports. Larry was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach.  

Larry is survived by his wife, Gail; his son, Scott Gonzales of Newark, California; daughters: Marie Robles of Fremont, California and Suzann Ratinho of Livermore, California; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Manuel and Lillian Gonzales; sister, Patty Jacobs; son, Larry Gonzales; and daughter, Charlene Barker.  A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24th, 2023 and a Mass on Tuesday, June 27th at 11:00am, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
