Lea K . Stanton passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 92.

Lea is survived by her 5 sons: Gary (Eileen) of Kansas, Tom (Joana) of Colorado, Brian (Laurie) of Florida, Craig (Denny) of Georgia, and William (Shelly) of Michigan along with grandchildren Tesha (Mike) Merlino, Kailey, Taylor, Nicole(Kyle)Wells, Shannon, Mason, Griffin, James, Sophia, Jack, and Anna, and great grandchildren Weston, Brayden, Addison, Charli, Lakelyn, Brooks, and Bennett.

Lea was a dedicated educator, counselor, volunteer, and activist whether residing in Dearborn Michigan, Estes Park Colorado, and finally in Claremont and Ponte Vedra Florida. Lea enjoyed her roles as mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She sought after many adventures and embraced the challenges that came her way. She was always open to new ideas and new friends. Even in retirement, her social calendar was always full.  Lea was steadfast in looking out for others and sharing her joy even after she lost her love of 68 years, Charles, who predeceased her in 2020.

Lea was fiercely devoted to her family and remained the matriarch always pulling her loved ones together by means of reunions, annual family calendars (which continue in her honor) many pictures,  and loving story telling. Lea has built a legacy for her family. Memories of cinnamon buns, oatmeal cookies, communing with nature, and watching the sun rise or set will always bring fond memories of Lea. She was an inspiration in accepting and welcoming life’s adventures and challenges. These qualities live on in Lea’s loved ones.
