Linda Anne Stewart, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Linda was born on January 21, 1943, in Northampton, Massachusetts, to Wilfred and Gertrude LaFond. She graduated from St. Josephs Academy High School in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1960.
Following high school, Linda began her career at Provident bank in Boston. As she and her husband started their family, she devoted many years as a homemaker. Later, she returned to the workforce, including employment at the Marshfield Mariner Newspaper and then later at a private school called Harker Academy in San Jose, California.
On October 24, 1964, Linda married the love of her life, James (Jim) Stewart, in Randolph, Massachusetts. Together they shared more than six decades of marriage filled with love, activity, and adventure.
Linda had a deep love of dancing with her husband and lived an active lifestyle. She enjoyed playing tennis, participating in bridge groups, traveling the world, and spending time on the beach. Above all, Linda adored her grandchildren and was an important, loving presence of their lives.
Linda was a devoted member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Linda is survived her husband, James (Jim) Henry Stewart; and four children, Laurie (Marc) Losee (GA), Cathleen (Fran) Coyne (FL), Brian Stewart (FL) and Daniel (Dawn Morris) Stewart (FL); her six cherished grandchildren, James (Jim) Losee (GA), Kyle Losee (GA), John (Johnny) Prevost (FL), Kaylyn Losee (GA), Elise (Ellie) Stewart (FL) and Asher Coyne (FL). She is also survived by her brother, Philip LaFond (MA), along with several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 5, 2026, 1 pm at Our Lady of the Star Catholic Church.
