Louie Edward Britt, Sr., 71, died Monday, October 26th, 2020. He was born on March 11, 1949, in Wilmington, NC, to Rautie Bascom Britt and Kathleen Williamson Britt. He grew up on Sullivan’s Island, SC, and joined the Marine Corps in 1968. After his military term, Louie moved to Jacksonville, FL, and began working for the Ring Power Corporation and Denise Carol Talent agency. Shortly after moving to Jacksonville he purchased land in Mandarin where he lived for 50 years. Over the years, Louie was the owner of several construction companies that contributed to land development and improvement in the Jacksonville area. Prior to having children, Louie enjoyed building and racing stock cars on local dirt tracks. Later in life his hobbies included working on his acreage, fishing, and watching Nascar Racing.

Louie is survived by one daughter and her husband, Ashley Britt Fries and Troy J. Fries, Sr., Saint Johns, FL; one son, Louie Britt, Jr. (Blu), Jacksonville, FL; one grandson, Troy Fries, Jr., Saint Johns, FL; one sister, Judy (Neal) Spruill, Gainesville, GA; his dear friend, Joan Vinson, Jacksonville, FL, several nieces and nephews; and many friends including his Reed Avenue family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Connie Britt; his brother, Danny Truitt Britt; and his parents.

A private chapel ceremony will be held for close family and friends of Louie at 1:30pm on Friday, October 30, 2020, with a graveside service to follow at 2pm for the public. Services will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley: 4750 Palm Valley Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, 32082.

To ensure the safety of all family members and friends, all guests are asked to wear a face mask both indoors and outdoors, and to practice social distancing.
