Louis Edward McGough, 81, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, graduated from Richland High School, and proudly served the United Parcel Service (UPS) for 30 years. As much as he loved UPS, he loved his family even more. Lou is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, Nancy McGough. He was a devoted father to his seven children: Laurie Kelley (Bill), Vickie Taylor (Allan), Chris McGough (deceased), Cathy Braun (Evan), Susanne Childers (Mick), Douglas McGough (Sheri), Jonathan McGough (Kristie). He cherished his seventeen grandchildren including: Shannon, Meredith, Benjamin, Sean, Christian, Kaleigh, Alexander, Cassidy, Taylor, Madison, Noah, Zackary, Casey, Devyn, Ryan, Brody, Colin, great-grandchildren: Ariana, Gavin, Brayden, and Declan, step-grandsons: Brandon and Caleb, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Rosella McGough, brother Gib (Carol), brother Donald, and is survived by his brother Bernie (Peggy).

Lou was always up for an adventure and loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He loved sports cars and motorcycles, sang in the choir at OLSS, enjoyed traveling abroad, and found peace in the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was recognized by the American Cancer Society of Jacksonville as “Volunteer of the Year” and was a supporter of Catholic Charities.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00am.
