In loving memory of Mahendrakumar Patel, “Mac”, age 62, formerly of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. Mac was born June 23, 1958, in Sarsa, Gujurat, India. He later moved to Lusaka, Zambia, in the late 1970’s and then emigrated from there to America in 1985. First to Maryland and then Orlando, to provide a better future for his family. A lifelong entrepreneur, Mac started a successful convenience store and gas station in Orlando, before eventually moving into the hospitality industry, owning hotels in Fort Pierce and Tampa, Florida. He was a member of the Gujarati Samaj of Orlando, the Hindu Temple of Orlando, BAPS and the Port St. Lucie Friday Club. Mac was a compassionate and caring husband, father, and grandfather, who had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Chimanbhai and Dahibai Patel. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Naynaben; son, Bhavin Patel and his wife, Shetal Patel; daughter, Kajal Patel and her husband, Abhi Somaiy; two-grandchildren, Aayan Patel and Liliana Patel. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
