Marie Lund, 101, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her home in Ponte Vedra, Florida. She was born on March 27, 1916 in Sagamore, PA to Anthony and Nellie (Kurish) Zalinsky. She completed her elementary education in 1927 at the age of 11 (Marie was promoted from the 5th to the 8th grade for her quick learning ability). After school she went to work on the family farm. Marie married Charles Lund November 19, 1938 in Henry Clay, DE. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, singing and Tai Chi. She devoted her time and talent to her church affiliations over the years. Marie was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Marie is survived by seven children, Arthur (Arlene) Lund, Red Hook, NY, Albert Lund, Southampton, PA, Daniel Lund, Forked River, NJ, Cecilia Murphy, Sarasota, FL, Martin (Sandra) Lund, Leominster, MD, Nancy (Eric) Ridgway, Sarasota, FL and Kathryn (Jean) Davit, Ponte Vedra, FL; 11 grandchildren, Cheryl Klercker, Anthony Lund, Karen Casselli, Stephen Lund, Daniel Lund, Tracey Williams, Laurie Stewart, Danielle McNamara, William Newman, Jennifer Narayan and Maxine Davit; 21 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her siblings, Stanley, Helen, Anne, Joseph, Frank, Chester and Jean, her grandson, Michael. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:15 am Tuesday, July 18, at St. John Paul II Mission Church. Rosary 10:15-10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am with burial in San Lorenzo Cemetery, St. Augustine, FL.
