Mary Eileen (Borden) McComb of Ponte Vedra, Florida passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by her devoted husband and three children after battling several medical issues.

Born January 15, 1949, in Washington, D.C., Eileen was the daughter of Daniel and Ellen (Wall) Borden, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, James (Jim) McComb, to whom she shared over 55 years of marriage; their children and grandchildren: Bridget Neddo (Jim) and their children, Daniel, Patrick, and Joey, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; John McComb (Kimberly) and their children, Connor, Reilly, and Clara, of Powhatan, Virginia; and Ellen Thigpen (Sonny) and their son, C.J., of Ponte Vedra, Florida. Eileen is also survived by her sister, Loretta McAteer and her husband, Sean, of Ponte Vedra, Florida; her brother, Vincent Borden of Punta Gorda, Florida; and her sister, Alice Hagan and her husband Steve, of Damascus, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Borden and Stephen Borden; and her sister-in-law, Trish Borden.

Eileen loved to travel with her husband Jim. They sailed on many cruises and took lots of road trips with friends. Eileen attended Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa where she met Jim. Eileen was a devoted wife and mother and was so excited to be a grandmother. She babysat four of her grandchildren so her daughters could continue to work. She was also a proud Grandma of twin boys. She loved watching football with her husband Jim as they were loyal Redskins fans.  

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida at 11:00 a.m. A Private family burial will be held after the mass.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.
