With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maryann Burke, who died peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old.

Born on October 18, 1949, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Mary (Anthes) and William Von Ohlen, Maryann grew up in Garwood, New Jersey. After many years raising her family in New Jersey, she later made Florida her home, settling in Palm Coast, where she continued to create a welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and family gatherings.

Maryann was the devoted wife of William Burke for 54 years and a loving mother to her sons, Mark Burke and William Burke of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her cherished granddaughters, Taylor and Ella Burke, whom she adored beyond measure. They were the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to spoil them, celebrate their accomplishments, or remind them how deeply they were loved.

Maryann loved spending time with family and friends, particularly during the holidays. She was known for her love of cooking and her ability to bring people together around the table.  She proudly passed her love of cooking on to her sons, leaving behind traditions that will continue for generations.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Burke; her sons, Mark and William Burke; her granddaughters, Taylor and Ella Burke; her brother, William Von Ohlen and his wife Patty; her sisters, Nancy Goy, Rita Johnson and her husband Al, and Eileen Zabel and her husband Ed; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Maryann will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering devotion to her family, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life for immediate family and close friends will be held in late July. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United States Naval Academy in support of current and future generations of midshipmen, a cause that was meaningful to Maryann and her family.
